We slept at the Landmark for a special event. We had booked a Deluxe room but have been upgraded at check in to an Executive room looking over the Winter Garden atrium. Check in has been everything you expect from a 5 star hotel. Skilled, controlled as well as well-mannered with the member of staff working with you only and no other distractions. Our room demands have been fulfilled without being prompted, even for the upgraded room and we have been shown to the lifts by the front desk staff. It absolutely was an excellent start.
The room was splendid - huge, with taste furnished (in a Four Seasons fashion) with a few good touches as an umbrella in the vestibule area and digital weighing scales!. Like the room, the bathroom was large with distinct dressing/sinks places, bath and big walk-in shower and independent toilet. Water pressure was good. The only real disadvantages have been the ancient CRT tv set as well as the absent room safe that left a hole over the minibar.
The space was extremely peaceful and the windows offered great sound prevention even though there is little action inside the atrium later on after sunset.
There was breakfast in the atrium's Winter Garden included in our room fee. The meal was outstanding. Likely the perfect Complete English breakfast I've had however it does come at a price. Still it is all served on Royal Doulton and you really are within the unconventional setting of sitting down underneath a glass roof in the middle of palm trees in central London. Service was effective however we'd a bit of a wait for the baked part to arrive. A great touch has been the provision of full-size cafetieres and teapots for every individual.
It's really worth taking a quick walk round the hotel to appreciate the building history as one of the original railway terminus hotels filled with stained glass windows and chandeliers.
The employees at reception certainly are a credit to the hotel and I would gladly stay at The Landmark once more.
